The Elevation Certificate records the elevation of the lowest floor of a structure. This form documents a community’s efforts in complying with the National Flood Insurance Program regulation which requires communities to obtain the elevation of the lowest floor “of all new and substantially improved structures within identified flood hazard areas, and (to) maintain a record of all such information.”
